Best Possible UK Budget holiday with dog

We are a bit short on money this year, but I would really love to try and do a short weekend break in the UK. We will need to take the dog, so unfortunately can't go camping as he barks at every noise outside and won't settle (I know from experience having to leave and pack up a tent in the middle of the night!)

Does anyone have any ideas of cheap dog friendly holidays? We are in the North East, so thinking of getting an air b and b in Northumberland for a weekend, taking our food from home, and just walking on the beach- but we have done this a few times so wondered if anyone had any ideas? It is just two of us, and the dog.

Try Haven. Most of the parks have some sort of accommodation which allows dogs and you can get some really good deals, even for August.

How about driving down to the Peak District? We had a lovely long weekend in an Airbnb with our dog in Oct last year. There were plenty listed as dog friendly as not too expensive. There are some really nice little villages with pubs and cafes, Chatsworth House (gardens are great and dog friendly), Bakewell, loads of walks. Could be a nice option for you? We will definitely go back.

Some Travel Lodges accept dogs, and there are sometimes offers for cheap rooms. A friend recently stayed in one for £29 which I thought they didn't do that cheap any more. You would need to pay to eat out though.

We've found caravan parks good value. I always go for ones with a sauna as well, there's a few around, definitely some north Yorkshire coast. We went to 1 in windermere last year, it was great

Have a look around Largs, it's often much cheaper than the very popular parts of Scotland but has access to beaches and you can take the ferry across to Cumbrae or Bute for the day which always adds to the feeling of adventure a bit.

Also there is a website where you can book privately owned caravans on sites such as Haven or Park Homes . You can filter booking to pet friendly vans .

Can I ask, how small is the budget? We’re in a similar position minus the dog, so this is something I have been looking in to.
