Hi,
I'm going on holiday this year and the destination I'm traveling too charges quite a lot for daily rental of SUP. This is something we really want to do. We have our own but it's quite large. I've check and you can take one on an airplane (in place of checked baggage) but i was wondering what to pack it in. Has anyone taken one before please?

An SUP bag?

I’ve not taken a sup but I’ve taken a surfboard years ago. Took it in a surfboard bag. I paid extra for sports equipment and still could take a normal suitcase as well.

It's an inflatable one- probably should have mentioned that!

How small can you pack it down? Will you bring own pump, manual or electric?

Did it come with its own bag? If not you can buy one, then also pack your other stuff around it if you are only going for a few days to save taking another case. Make sure the paddle is well protected!

Yes my family take one. I think they pack it in its bag in a big suitcase and check it in.

What's an SUP?

MyWitHasReachedItsEnd · 02/01/2024 15:43

Or even a Paddleboard Angry

It's just too big, even when folded. The largest measurement when folded is 90cm. I've gone and bought another board!! This one is compact and folds small enough to go in a suitcase. It's only up to 60kg in weight so we will take it in turns to use it.
