Do you think they are worth the extra money ?

depends how often you travel - if you don't travel a lot then probably not.

What you have to pay to sit in a nicer area while waiting for the plane? Cor I wouldn't, it's only an hour or so...

no, tbh. Our company once did a deal with an airline so we got to use the lounge. I wasn't paying, so thoroughly enjoyed the free drinks/newspapers/peace and quiet of the lounge. Company didn't renew the deal, so would I rather pay the extra myself? No chance. And wouldn't do for private travel either. Depends where you're travelling from and why you're travelling. If you want to use every waiting minute to work, then go for the lounge. If otherwise, could you post your specific reasons for considering it so we understand the context?

I haven't every used one but my husband does regularly for work. I am going on holiday with my daughter next week and an offer came through for a discount use of the lounge and I just wondered if they were worth the money. No particula reason for using just wanted to spoil ourselves a little if it would make a nicer start to the holiday, just wasn't sure how much nicer or whether we'd be better off spending the money shopping

if you live near enough to the airport that you don't have to leave loads of time for traffic, and so will just be through security an hour before the flight its not worth it. They usually call european flights 30 minutes before schedule, so thats a quick pop round the shops.

I'd rather spend the money on clothes myself (and I do get free lounge access as am a frequent flyer, but only use it when flying intercontinental really)
