India with kids

We're off to India in the Easter holidays with 2 kids age 8 and 4. We're going to Kerala for the second week but looking for recommendations for somewhere interesting to go that we will all enjoy for a few days in the first week please. It's going to be incredibly hot so staying somewhere with a pool to dunk in after a busy day would be great. We're really keen to see some animals and experience some of the incredible food etc, although both kids are a bit soft when it comes to anything that isn't pasta 😂

Goa is lovely. Try and book one of two sister eco-resorts in the hills: Wildernest or Swapnagandha. They take you on different guided hikes, have authentic folk dances from 3 states to watch, great food (non-spicy options), monkeys and there is an infinity pool. They are also away from the party beaches. The Museum of Goa (MOG) is superb for all ages. Lots of old, beautiful architecture to look at around Panaji too. Children are liked and generally very well treated.
If you’re looking more for a wildlife experience, look up the Kabini River Lodge, a part of Jungle Lodges and Resorts. I’ve been there twice with kids. They take you out on jeeps, and we were lucky enough to see tigers, leopards, Indian bison, elephants, and more! A spectacular experience.
