Flying to Oz with a 15 month old - just how hard is it?

We are thinking of a holiday in Oz, this summer when dd will be 15 months, or next when she'll be 2.
Just how hard is it travelling with a little one? We havent flown with her as yet so have no idea what to expect.
Anyone got any suggestions/advice/opinions?

might be having my mum on our flight too although as a smoker she may not be the happiest of campers on the trip over. Suspect ds1 will be worth his weight in gold as will dp, between us all we will cope.
Medised works well on ds2 when he is poorly but loathe to use drugs if he is not I'll. Unsure as to whether I'll still be breastfeeding then either. Other two self weaned at 16 mths dunno about ds2 though.
an we will wing it and see. And like others have said. Its one day ( and a half) out of your life. I'm more worried about jet lag after return home. Ds1 dp and me all suffer really badly on return from far afield. Heaven knows what the younguns will be like!!!!
