Sri Lanka itinerary

Hi, planning Sri Lanka for Easter…

Travelling with 3 kids 7 & under so want to be sensible about amount of long drives / hotel changes. we will have a driver

Views on this itinerary please:

arrive in Colombo
Drive to Kandy (1 night)
Drive to Nuwara Eliya (1 night)
train to Ella (1 nights)
drive to Tangalle, stopping for safari at the national park en route 5 nights (r&r)
day trip to Galle
back to Colombo

I would prefer to do less hotels in the first part but otherwise we are doing a lot of travelling without breaking it up.

any suggestions on how to improve this?

Galle over Bentota definitely! We went with our son aged 7 and he loved it! We also preferred Mirissa over Tangalle but not sure we saw the best of Tangalle. We went over Easter as well. You’re going to love it. Ella was a highlight for us.

Following for ideas. @Holidayplanner123 I think you have to know your kids, my 6yo wouldn’t find being on a train interesting at all but would love the hike.

hi, did you go in april ? how was the weather ?

we did thailand in march and it was HOT i was wanting to do sri lanka in paril for next easter not sure about the weather though im getting mixed feedback. Thanks :)
