Alicante to Benidorm

Can anyone tell me the best (and cheapest) way to get from Alicante airport to Benidorm?

DS and his friends spent a night in Benidorm from an Alicante stay . They got a coach at the airport .

Local trains are good. Are we talking from airport with bags or a day trip...

The former I would do a taxi as airport is a bit out of town and train staion in benidorm is at the top of the hill which will be hard with suitcases.

However as a day trip the train from any of the 3 Central train stations in alicante out to Benidorm take about 45mins from memory. There is a nice little town called El Campello which is about half way which is also a good day trip...

You can get a bus / coach directly from the airport - no need to go into Alicante itself .
