Cheap summer hol abroad car free

Please help! Looking for ideas for a week in the English summer school hols with 12 and 14yr olds abroad and probably beach but ideally car free, so either by Eurostar from London or flight and public transport. Very happy to do eurocamp or a lodge type accommodation (not tents) - main thing is being near a nice historic town/city or beach resort, nice scenery, activities (sports, cycling, water sports good) but keeping price down as things are very tight! Thanks so much.

Go on skyscanner, put in your chosen airport to 'Everywhere' on the dates you want or the 'whole month' and see what comes up.

We went to Paris for £14, but to come back was £200. So we put Paris to 'Everywhere' and could fly onto Pula in Croatia for £26 then back to the UK for £30. So we had 4 days in Paris and 6 days in Croatia for £70 flights in August.

We did this last year and went to Copenhagen for 3 days and then onto Budapest for 6 days before flying home. (Around £90 per person for flights)

We find airbnb accommodation.

I have just booked Stansted to Sarajevo (£26) and Zagreb to Stansted (£35) for this Easter. We will use train and Flix bus to visit Mostar and Split.

What a brilliant idea @Cranmer

We are both teachers, so have to travel in school holidays. We have found some really good deals putting 'to everywhere' on Skyscanner.

Last Easter we flew to Morocco (Rabat) return for £90 then used trains to go to Casablanca, Marrakesh then we did a desert safari through the Sahara and then carried on to Fes and back to Rabat. The trains were great and it was a fantastic holiday. We find some great Airbnbs for about £60 a night.
