I'm really struggling to decide where to go with my daughter in summer 2024.

I've got a budget of around £4500. (Could flex a little if needed). it's just me and one 11yo DD. 10 days to 14 days ideally.

i dislike beach holidays/all inclusive.

We cruised last summer from UK and loved it. I had been looking at flying to Seattle and then cruising Alaska, but it's just a bit beyond my price range.
We've also done Florida/Iceland etc.

I dont love tropical heat, so not really one for Bahamas etc.
Also no massive desire for Spain/greece. Although Italy looks stunning.

drove in the states, but wouldn't want to in Europe.

I feel like there's this huge world to go and see, but I'm not sure where to really look at.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Very clear on what you do and don’t like.

What does your daughter enjoy?

There is a huge word for you to see but you really do need to be a little more accepting that to see it you may need to experience a bit of discomfort… says ‘the red headed paler than pale woman’ currently in Thailand :)

Fair comment on my daughter. I'd included her in those likes and dislikes too. She does enjoy a beach holiday, but gets two weeks in summer with her dad and step mum doing just that.

She loved cruising, wants to go on one of the icon line of ships or Norwegian. Japan is top of her list, but we're doing that in 2025. She wants to see more of America too. (NY/Cali etc).

So the holidays we've done, more activity based, travelling around. She's loved.

We are possibly going to do a theme park in Europe at Easter too.

@Lesina I feel I may have to embrace that. Thailand was a possible too. I also burn to a crisp so you have my full sympathy.

@nutster thank you for that. I'll look into it. 😊
