Any particular bit of Suffolk?
Southwold is great. It has an old fashioned pier with lots of unususl sideshows and silly gadgets and a water clock. The beach is very nice and the town is worth a look too.
If the sun is out you could hire a punt or rowing boat on Thorpeness meare and visit little islands or look for the crocodile.

The Dinosaur Adventure in Lenwade, Norfolk is great. We took 3 boys (10, 8 and 6) and a girl (3) and they had a great day. Loads to see, do and climb over. We thought is was very reasonably priced as well

Ickworth Park in Horringer, near Bury St Edmunds. A great place to take a picnic on a nice day. There is an adventure playground and in lambing season there are lambs and ewes in the grounds. You do have to pay to get into the grounds though.

Great Yarmouth beach - the beach is great, lovely and sandy. The rest of the front is very much chip shops and arcades.

Walberswick - a beautiful place on the coast and great for crabbing. The beach is stones though.

If I think of some more I will let you know

Have you been to High Lodge at Thetford forest? Loads of marked walks and bike rides with wildlife themed climbing frames, sculptures etc. Decent loos and coffee shop. You do have to pay though. About £5 for the day.
If you go to Southwold, Walberswick is just across the river - a medium walk by footbridge or a longer route by car. Walberswick is sandy if the tide is low, Southwold is sandy too.
