Slovenia trip

We've our hearts set on a Slovenia holiday late June. Ten days maximum. Best flights from Manchester are to Venice which is fine as we fancy an overnight there anyway (we've been a couple of times so a night is fine)

Then do we hire a car or take a train. Or is there a better way. Ferry or coach? To get to Ljubljana? We quite fancy a trip to Trieste on the way.

Any recommendations to give us a good taste of Slovenia. We love good food and scenery. Or a few days by the lakes or sea. Don't mind driving. Not into hiking etc.

Recommend Ljubljana (obvs)
Lake Bled and/or Lake Bohinj

Public transport is really good.

Postojna Caves and Predama Castle are definitely worth a visit. I absolutely love Slovenia amazing country and lovely people.

Sorry spelling should be Predjama Castle

Lake Bohinj is beautiful and less built up than Lake Bled. I spent a day in Bled which felt like enough.

Trains are infrequent. Coaches are good and cheap.
