Hi all, looking for inspiration for August holiday ideas…

  • Already been to French, Austrian, Slovenia Alps, Lauterbrunnen and Dordogne and want a contrast from this type of holiday
  • Looking at two weeks preferably two centre
  • Have enjoyed medium sized eurocamp type like La Ravoire, Annecy and Natteresee in Austria would be interested in recommendations for similar campsites but also considering other ideas too!
  • Teenagers like things going on so isolated villas maybe out, like to be able to wander round towns, we like unspoiled beaches *wouldn’t rule out long haul

what have you enjoyed? Specially welcome specific accommodation recommendations!!
thank you 🙏 in advance

Rome and then down to Amlfi Coast?

Le Phare is a really nice medium sized campsite on Ile de RĂ©. It has a teen club in the summer holidays, lots of watersports and is surrounded by nice beaches.

If you like eurocamp the best we've been to for teens was one on lake Garda at Pershiera ( excuse spelling) ferry's to other lake Garda towns easy and train station for day trips to Verona (30 min on trains) . Think it was literally called Camping del Garda. Also camping del bara in Spain about an hour from Barcelona so we had some days in Barcelona and a week in the eurocamp.

Ogunquit in Maine, USA. Fly to Boston (there’s some cheap fairs available at the moment). Then it’s an easy drive up.

Wide range of accommodation to sort all budgets. Three mile long undeveloped sandy beach. Wonderful town to walk around and you can walk to Perkins Cove. Drive out to the Kennebunks. Stop off at Salem either on the way there or back to the airport.

We had such a wonderful holiday there with teens. Sightseeing, relaxing, and about the only part of the USA I could actually live!!

Ooo I love all these ideas, never even heard of Ogunquit, off to Google! Thank you all for responses!

I second America. It’s a great holiday with kids. You could fly into New York and spend some time there before driving up to Cape Cod which has nice beaches and towns. Might also be able to sneak in Washington DC. California would also be a good holiday with teens.. or what about an adventure trip to Grand Canyon, the desert and Las Vegas?

@Mossiebonbon Usa can be very hot in August.

We have booked with Families Worldwide. We went to Peru which is perfect in August. They also do Costa Rica and have lots of ideas teens would enjoy. They are experts on wildlife holidays too which always interested my teens.
