Woburn, Elveden or Longleat Center Parcs with a 3 year old in Jan?

Woburn, Elveden, and Longleat are all between 1.5-2 hours from us. Which would you recommend for two adults and a three year old in Jan? She loves scooting and the playground and I think would like the indoor pools.

Do all Center Parcs have the same restaurants or do some of the parks have better food than others?

Thank you

I have only ever been to elveden but its great - they have a lovely toddler splash area

TedLasto · 22/12/2023 16:57

We went to Elveden when our daughter was 3 - it was perfect, pretty flat so great for scootering and ease of getting around, pool area perfect, playgrounds great. The pancake restaurant is good for kids, there is also a pizza place, and she really
lived the pub with the soft play in it (loved the milkshake!)- all perfectly set up for that age.

Elvedon.
The other two are hillier. Even though Woburn is smaller and therefore has shorter distances, Elvedon is more established and has a nicer woodland vibe.

I prefer longleat but request near pool otherwise long hilly rides. Elveden smaller. But it's a very expensive holiday. The ones abroad are cheaper, and a nice hotel abroad eg canaries might be cheaper.

Elvenden. Longleat is lovely for the festival of light, but the centreparks is SO HILLY and the little train is always packed.

Never been to Woburn though - not sure how that one is.

FlutteryButterfly · 22/12/2023 17:20

They are all.pretty much the same. Woburn has a newer feel and look but it more sparse as a forest. I'd say Elveden, the pool is better and it's flatter than both Woburn and Longleat so easier for scooters and cycles.

The ones abroad as PP have mentioned are not comparible. Cheaper yes but don't have that CPs feel. Everyone i knowthats been, myself included have enjoyed these but wouldn't go again. Done CP twice yearly for 20 years.

Really Fluttery?

I've been to ones in the UK and Ireland, but these days we prefer the French ones - I find the feel exactly the same, and the weather's better (not a factor at Christmas though)

gotomomo · 22/12/2023 17:54

Personally I would see if you can get a holiday to the canaries where it will be warm. Centreparcs is so expensive and you then have to cook!

sarahb083 · 22/12/2023 18:24

Thanks all. Sounds like Elveden would be best.

I prefer to stay in the UK for ease - the canaries would be lovely but a 4hr flight + 2hrs at the airport + travel to and from the airport means you lose nearly a day each way. We’ve flown with her a few times and not in a hurry to do it again!

I’ve seen other threads saying European center parcs are cheaper but I think that must be during school holidays. The UK ones are £450 for a Mon-Fri in Jan vs £700 for the nearest one in France.

Hey sarahb would you mind reporting back after January? Would love to hear which one you picked and how you got on. 😚

Nice enough but a bit meh for me- I've had family and friends that have thought the same. Done it, had a good time but wouldn't go back.

I prefer the Longleat one but I usually combine it with a trip to Longleat safari park and a day in Bath .

Roselilly36 · 24/12/2023 16:39

Elveden is great, very flat, and has a central hub. You will have a great time.

sarahb083 · 30/12/2023 12:18

@sellotape12 yes, will do!
