Hi, can anyone recommend a nice area on the Canaries for a break away in March?

Nice area, not too “Brits abroad” modern or traditional

thanks

We are at Botánico just now and having a great time. Spa is fab, temperature in low 20s and if you have a hire car there are lots of good day trips. Would definitely come back. Lovely calm atmosphere and mix of people.

I’ve stayed at the Corales Royal Hideaway and it’s most definitely five star. Probably not what OP is looking for as it’s a very modern hotel but we loved our suite which had a huge terrace and private pool. Also loved the position in La Caleta due to the proximity of so many nice places to eat.

Definitely agree. Great hotel.

The Bahia Del Duque is a beautiful resort and the food is great. Be warned however that the heated pool is very small and the big pools are not heated.

The ritz Abama in Tenerife might suit you.

Puerto del Carmen would not. However seaside los Jameos is in matagorda/plays los pocillos and it was perfect for us- promenade of bars and restaurants along the promenade but nothing wild and was a mix of French, German, British and Irish guests in the main.

Royal river and royal garden villas in Costa Adeje are both superb

Location for Abama is poor though, literally nothing for miles around it.

Royal garden and rivers same, lovely places, poor out of the way on a hill location.

Both are fine if you dont want to step out of the hotel, but i prefer to be able to walk out to restaurants, beaches, shops etc.
