We've just booked 3 weeks in Turkey - return flights to Istanbul. Family of teens, mostly history buffs. We have family there so usually just visit them but have never explored.
Things we def want to do:
- Couple of nights in Istanbul (we've been before and will have opportunity to go back)
- 5-7 nights with family on an beach a few hours from Istanbul
- 2 ish nights on an Ertugrul type tour, maybe independently/maybe organised so Bursa/Sogut (not too tricky from beach place)
Where else is unmissable, we are not against having to take an internal flight given coach is pretty standard but very long. I'm wondering if we stick to the Dardenelles/Aegean coast to keep travel reasonable or are we missing an opportunity for Capadocia/kayseri/Pammukale and the like?
We don't want to pack so much in that we do more traveling than enjoying, but do want to spread our wings a little.
