What to do on New Year's Eve in Tenerife?

We're staying in Palm Mar in Tenerife (not too far from Playa de las Americas). I have two children aged 12 and 8. I wondered if anyone could recommend what we could do on New Year's Eve itself please? We have a hire car and have loads of interesting things planned all around the island for our holiday but am just a bit stuck on what to do that evening itself.

I'm not sure if there are fireworks happening along Los Cristianos/Playa de Las Americas.

We're staying in Los Cristianos and our hotel have a gala dinner on.

Thanks for the reply @BG2015. We're self-catering so no such option for us.

Hi. We are in same situation. What options do you find?

ChickenSoupAndLokshen · 31/12/2023 00:28

Not a lot tbh. We're going to watch the fireworks at midnight in playa de las americas and then head back to our accommodation.

Many many years ago I had an amazing nye in the main square of los Christianos. Tapas and churros and mobile bars around the square. Lots of families out drinking cava. Kids up, fab atmosphere. There may have been fireworks. 30 years back now. Hope yours is good too.

Check out the hotels near you. See if they've got anything going on.

We have just come back from Tenerife- stayed in Los Cristianos. All of the bars seemed to be having events for NYE- it looked like there will be loads going on. Most people we spoke to said they would go for dinner/drinks then watch the fireworks.
Have a lovely night! Wish I was still there!

We're here now. After a pretty chaotic Christmas Day evening meal in our hotel we've decided to eat out and then head back to our hotel for the entertainment and fireworks
