Mexico in July / August

Has anyone been to Mexico in July / early August? we’d love to do 2 weeks for in the carribean straight after our wedding but I know it’s wet season from around June to November. I’ve read mixed things though that it usually only rains briefly and for short bursts, and some days not at all so interested to hear if you have been out there (or anywhere else in the carribean) at that time of year!

Also any Cancun hotel recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you ☺️ x

Hello! Mexican here :) weather wise you'll be fine. For hotels, what type of budget are you thinking of?

The sargassum seaweed may be a problem on the beaches at that time.

We've just done Mexico this past August for 2 weeks and it was fine. Rained more the second week, but only for 20min a day and then sunshine again.
We stayed in Riviera Maya region

You should be fine, yes it will probably rain but it’s usually short bursts in afternoon or overnight. You could be unlucky and get more but I wouldn’t not go on that basis.
Go down the coast a bit, away from Cancun . I’d recommend Akumal, lovely small town, historic ruins, lots of jungly things to do, there’s high end boutique hotels right up to big AI complexes.

Moon Palace. Loved it. Best AI we've ever been to.

Even the room service is AI!
