I'm not sure what you mean by the parking ? Are you wanting to leave your car for a length of time? There are several Premier Inns around Gatwick.

Sorry i explained that really badly. I meant we will be booking in overnight at a hotel but will just be there for a few hours before our flight but want the car to stay for the week whilst we are away!!

Train station parking? Eg redhill. Then you can take the train to airport. Or there are people that rent spaces out. I can’t remember the name of the app. Maybe Google

The app is JustPark. I parked recently at Three Bridges station for the week for just £33! Got the train in which was perfect as they are so frequent (I think every 5-8 minutes from Gatwick to Three Bridges)

We always stay at the Premier Inn terminal location but book very far in advance to get a good toom rate deal (& if you want to eat in the onsite restaurant, i would recommend booking a table in advance)

We then pay for one of the offsite car parks with a bus to the terminal (Cophall Farm have historically been good, but Purple Parking are also alright). Again, booking way in advance.

If we book a year out, we can usually get both for £150, but does depend on time of year you're travelling!

wow that is very organized booking a year in advance. we only booked the holiday 7 days in advance of flying so have more limited options. As there are 5 of us with skis etc we wont take a train. Thank you

You’ll need to take some sort of transfer though, unless you park in the LGW long stay. Have a look at the Holiday Extras website which usually has a decent range of options for airport hotels/parking.

You’ll struggle to find much cheap at short notice at Christmas I would think.

Walkacrossthesand · 19/12/2023 23:50

Was just coming on to say Holiday Extras website, but someone beat me to it! You may not find a cheap deal so close to your departure date, sadly 😞

PS with the hotels listed, look very carefully at small print - some hotel shuttles only start at 5am, some are chargeable, some say book your own taxi etc.

We’ve stayed at the courtyard by Marriott a couple of times using their stay and park deal. It’s really convenient and an easy walking distance to the terminal (there is a shuttle too). Food at the restaurant was average, but the second time we took a stroll down to the terminal and got some goodies from M&S and had a room picnic.
