Gozo next July?

Has anyone been in the summer? Is it unbearably hot or is there a nice breeze as so much of it is close to the sea?! It seems very good value in terms of accommodation. We’d book one of the farmhouses with a pool. Any tips? Thank you 😊

We went in August 2017 and there was a heatwave. It was unbearably hot and we pretty much stayed in the hotel. However, it might not normally be like that.

It's likely to be very hot, but the farmhouses will keep the heat out.
I think the May holiday might be nicer weather, but plenty of people love the Mediterranean in the summer

Hmmm, I think you’re both right that southern med is now extremely hot - but if it’s not Gozo we might end up in Greece or Italy which may be similar. Did you enjoy the island @Branleuse and @PinkTeaForMe ?

It depends what you want. I love gozo but it's a small island.
I personally think that staying on Malta and visiting gozo would be my preference because more to do

We went to Malta and Gozo March 2023 - weather was good and islands were pleasantly green. Our holiday leader was Maltese and we asked him about summer weather - he said he sould spend it on the beach, and be in the sea a lot as it was so hot, he wouldn't do anything else.

Echo what @Branleuse said.
We went in July and it was fine, we wandered around the cities etc, sunbathed on our roof, but we lived in Italy so it actually seemed a bit cooler for us!

Some of the farmhouses will have shaded courtyard areas, but it will be hot hot hot. We've been a few times in late September and it's still been roasting then.

We've mainly been for diving, but there's quite a bit of interest to do on the island in general and it's great relaxing holiday. You could easily fill a week if you've not been before.

There really isn't much to do there its very sleepy space sure that's the holiday you want first
