Looking for a trip in December to go away and want somewhere that's warm at least 20 ish degrees. Years ago I went to Tenerife which was 24 degrees.

Where have you been that had really pleasant warm weather in December that's not too far to travel. I'm thinking Canaries, Egypt

I prefer Lanzarote to Tenerife as no high rise buildings. I think the weather is very similar.

We had a week of 23 degrees in lanzarote 2 weeks ago. It was so nice.

Hi, we normally go to Tenerife in January time but it's still jacket weather... so might be similar in December. 🥶
I found this website recently that might be worth looking at, save some money over the Christmas period. Sort of last minute deals. https://www.transfertravel.com/listings?categories=1&categories=3&page=1&perPage=18&order=discount_percentage&month=2023-12
Worth looking at if there's something warm! 🌞

It was 25 in Tenerife last Friday. Just choose a hotel with a heated pool if you want to swim. Didn't need a coat except to climb teide

Lanzarote was 22-25 degrees last December.

The Canaries are great in winter - perfect low 20s temps, sunny most days and just a lovely contrast to the UK. I've been to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife. They're all a bit different. Lanzarote is the least spoilt, but the landscape is very volcanic - black lava everywhere - I liked it but not everyone does. Gran Canaria and Tenerife are greener, lusher, bigger and also more developed. The southeast corner of Tenerife from Los Cristianos north to Costa Adeje is tacky IMO, but that area is warmer/sunnier/drier than the rest of the island so if you choose your hotel wisely it can be okay. We liked La Caleta for dining/strolling in the evenings - much nicer than anywhere in Adeje. My favourite place so far though is Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria. It's got some local charm and plenty of decent places to eat/drink.

@cheezncrackers

I liked adeje myself, plenty going on, marina area was nice. We were staying up the coast which was boring in comparison so I'd booked los cristanos in the future

gentlesea · 14/12/2023 23:10

Agree with @cheezncrackers - Puerto de Mogan is lovely and charming. Lots of flowers everywhere. Also because of where it is, it's sheltered from wind and has better weather.

Your options are really the canaries, Egypt or the Middle East unless you go longer haul to the southern hemisphere.

I've been looking for a while and have settled on Fuerteventura. It's looking like it will be 22° ish. Canaries have just had a Calima so it tends to cool off for a few days then warm up again, IME. The beaches look gorgeous.

I looked at Egypt a lot, but the fake reviews on a lot of hotels put me off. Outside of Christmas week there will be bargains on a nice holiday there though.

Lanzarote was 22-25 degrees last December.

It’s looking like it’s going to be more 20-22 degrees this time round (I’m flying to Lanzarote in a week’s time), but I’m still happy with that!

It was 8 degrees and grey here today.

Have you decided on where to go @Rosequartzz ?

Heyhoherewegoagain · 17/12/2023 18:14

Tenerife is 25 just now….guess how I know….😂

Rosequartzz · 21/12/2023 15:36

Thanks everyone ! I've been to Tenerife in Dec years ago and was expecting it to be hotter with the way the weather is in most countries nowadays. I was hoping for it to be hotter and have gone completely opposite direction and going to Germany instead.
