Hi
I’m looking for recommendations for some winter sun in January. I’ve never had a winter holiday to the sun. I suppose I’m looking for guaranteed warm weather and mild evenings. It’s for a family of 5. I’m not familiar with the canaries Tenerife etc. I’ve never been. I was thinking Dubai.. any recommendations for a holiday to beat the January blues. Also has to be exciting enough for 3 young children. Thank you thank u

What’s your budget and how far would you fly?

Thailand is amazing but it’s quite exxy and long haul

@EasternStandard

sorry I should have said that.. probably 6 hour flight. I’m in Ireland.
I think Thailand would be too far unless there are some really cheap deals.

thank you for your reply😊

Not Dubai, it's a shithole. Canaries are your best bet for that distance, although very warm weather isn't guaranteed. Cape Verde might be warmer.

Tenerife is a good bet though check the pool is heated. Air temperature will be circa 22-24 degrees typically. There's plenty to do there too if the weather is cooler unlike some places. Eating out is fairly cheap as are drinks (cheaper than U.K. mostly) so I wouldn't choose ai myself unless it was a very good hotel, airport is in the south, recommend Costa adeje myself as close to action but not as full on like playa des americas. Buses are good, airport bus is good so don't bother paying for transfer unless very late arriving

Egypt is nice and warm at that time of year and so much to see if you go to Luxor rather than one of the Red Sea resorts.

@Growlybear83 thanks for your reply. Im not familiar with Egypt. I just googled it and advice is to reconsider travel to Egypt… maybe it’s not safe.. please excuse my ignorance. It looks lovely though and nice hotels.

Florida is probably a bit more than 6 hours going west, and about 6 going east.

Loads to do in Orlando and beautiful beaches.

Weather not guaranteed though although it’s generally very good, it has been known to have a cold snap in the winter.
