Help me...I'm going crazy and need a break!

Just thought I'd see if anyone has any recommendations for a cheapish (max £1000) holiday with an 8 month old who is driving me crazy! It can be anywhere in Europe or UK but can't be too far to drive. It will be our first holiday with a baby and I just don't know what is suitable and might give us 10 mins to actually talk. Or is this just a crazy fantasy? Finding it really hard to know where to begin and most things seem so expensive. We can only go during school summer holidays as DH is a teacher. ANY tips, suggestions, advice much appreciated. Thanks so much.

Bulgaria is only about 3 1/2 hr flight from UK. When you get there it's really cheap to eat out. Golden Sands is quieter than Sunny Beach (a bit like Costa Del Sol) - we've been to both and had a great time in each. these resorts are close toone of the airports (i think its Varna). Sunny, hot, clean, cheap food and drink!

Thanks for that divedaisy - I'll have a look at Sunny Beach. I like the resort name!
