Vancouver Island - best place to stay

Any tips for great accommodation on VI appreciated, please ...

Do want a decent level. Would not rule out paying for the Wickmannish Inn if it's truly marvellous as a treat, but I really should try and find something lovely at a lower price.

We stayed here www.crystalcove.ca/ and loved it.

Not cheap and not especially luxurious - more rustic charm - but lovely having a hot tub and being so close to Mackenzie beach which I think is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

We went for brunch at the Wickannish and it seemed really good as well.

That looks lovely, was considering a similar one to that, so will look into that for sure.

We will eat at the Wickannish at some point, but I am (very slowly!) teaching myself that although it looks lovely, realistically we will be out and about for long days while we’re there and we’ll not really see that much of wherever we stay. Different if we were going to be holed up there and making the most of it, but on this kind of holiday a hotel like that seems a waste.

Also depending how long you are away for it's nice to be able to prep some of your own meals/get takeout and have a bit more space to relax.

We've stayed in one of the cottages in the Pacific Sands beach resort, the flats didn't look quite as nice though.

For what we wanted - bit of luxury, balcony/outdoor space - we were completely outpriced by any of the resorts around Tofino. We ended up renting a gorgeous house instead from Tofino Vacation Rentals and saved a fortune. One of the most unspolit, beautiful places i've ever been you'll love it!
