Things to do in and around Buxton?

Hi. We're staying in a cottage near Buxton for a long weekend. Any ideas about what to do with two boys (3 and 7)?

Apart from Alton Towers, obviously.

Thanks.

If the weather is nice, go to the Goyt Valley and find the ruins of the old house, paddle in the stream - at the safe part and look out for the pets cemetary and the strange little RC chapel further up the hill.

Bakewell pudding - the proper stuff is to die for. Mr Kipling eat your heart out!

Bakewell also has quite a nice park with a river running through it and lots of hungry ducks.

Poole's Cavern if it's raining.

Walk up Froggatt Edge if it's nice!

Have fun, it's a beautiful part of the world
