Preclearance and 51st & Green Lounge Dublin

Going to be flying to Philly soon with a stop in Dublin of nearly 4 hours (approx 9am-1pm). Family of 3 adults and DS has additional needs and have booked special assistance.

How long before your US flight are you allowed to go through pre clearance? How long does preclearance generally take?

Im considering booking into 51st & Green lounge as DH and DS could both do with somewhere comfortable to wait. Reviews are very mixed. Has anyone used it recently? What time does breakfast finish? Is it hard to find a seat?

I went through Dublin a couple of weeks ago, flying to Chicago. Pre clearance took no time, there was only about 6 people ahead of us in the queue. So much better than clearing in the US. We went straight to it, but our layover was only a couple of hours.

The lounge was nice (a million times better than the lounge at O’Hare!). I thought the quality and range of food was good. The coffee machine was broken so we got coffees from the bar and they were really nice. Scones were good too 😄 Not sure what time they stopped serving breakfast sorry, but would have thought you’d be in there by 9.30 and they’d still be serving then (think we were there about that time). There was quite a bit of seating, we had no trouble getting 4 seats together.

Do they outsource their clearance to the irish airport staff or do they send American clearance people to Ireland? I'm missing the point and not answering yr question. I only ever flew to America from Gatwick. They have my fingerprints. I thought that was a bit much.

I think they are Irish staff but not 100% sure.

No , they are rude Americans . It's pretty fast though . I'd book the lounge as it's not a great waking area otherwise

They are Americans, pictures of the US president, you're basically in a little bit of America in Ireland.

Fantastic, thanks for your help. Have booked the lounge.
