Where have you stayed in Hurghada?

Would you recommend where you stayed, or any hotels/chains to avoid?

We are not fussy eaters but hear a lot of talk of food poisoning etc which is off-putting. A lot of the hotels have some very fake looking reviews so can't rely on those.

Hello Tired, we stayed at the Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh about three years ago and it was fabulous. We're thinking about going back next year

That looks lovely, bit too expensive for Xmas hols though.

Roll on dd leaving school and I can holiday in luxury without the school holiday price hike 😅

Pickalbatros Dana beach. Would definitely recommend. Food was decent but I have had better but the resort and pools were fantastic.

Sunrise garden Beach resort and spa. 10 minut walk to Senso Mall..

Stayed in the Hilton but this was about 20 years ago so may not even be there. Was a fabulous hotel though.

Have stayed at the tropitel sahl hasheesh in hurghada. It was nice, right on the beach, food was ok too.

Coral sea waterworld looks good and some of the Jaz hotels too.

Where to start...(although you may have already booked by now!)

Hurghada town:

Jungle Aqua Park - excellent hotel, excellent facilities, great sized rooms, tons of pools and water park, good selection but not great food. Trek or shuttle to beach via Dana Hotel.

Jaz Aquamarine - great hotel, good food, easy walk to shops etc, on the beach. Not as much/great food selection, but no issues.

Makadi Bay, Hurghada:

Sunrise Royal Makadi. 5 star service. On the beach, brilliant food (a La carte every day). Lovely rooms and surroundings. Pricey.

Jaz Saraya - favourite hotel. Great rooms, great selection in main restaurants and a La carte dine around. 2 large pool areas and lots to do. Free shuttle to free water park. Short walk to beach.

Jaz Aquaviva - Xmas holiday here. Very very good. 3 Restaurants, good food, waterpark, very large pools and plenty of seating. Not on the beach but free shuttle.

Have made return visits to all of these, that's how good they are.

Very late thank you for the detailed info! We ended up going to fuerteventura, only because Christmas week was so much more expensive than other dates, but looking at trying Hurghada later in the year so have saved your post!
