For me not the kids. Hate heights, don't want to freak out in front of the dc

Could your dp not take them without you?

I'm totally terrified of heights but did it with my dd aged 9 last year. She knew that I'd be terrified and was happy for me to sit on the bench.

It goes without saying that your children will probably be less independant and more boisterous and may want to climb/hang off bars etc. I could not have 'looked after' any child as would not have moved around the bubble.

Either make sure that your dp is sympathetic and understands that he is in charge or save your ticket money for an ice-cream afterwards and opt out.

The fast track system is worth every penny!

We were queuing for it (on our wedding day!) when the thing ground to a halt. a boy of about 7 had managed to jam his elbow behind the metal rail that goes round the inside of each pod at about knee level. Took about 30 mins and a large team of people to release him, while half the population of the south bank watched with bated breath...

he was fine, of course, and got a large cheer as he walked away.

I agree with the Aquarium suggestion - it's excellent and has the added advantage of not being suspended high above London with no means of escape.

Dh has taken the DCs on the Eye several times and I while away the time looking at the weirdos pretending to be sculptures on ground level. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than go up there.

I don't like flying or heights. I was fine on the London Eye though!
