Thinking about Summer half term and what we can do. Somewhere that's active, but not madly active, abroad or even in the UK...interesting and cultural, maybe

Basically, I'm a blank canvas. For me, DH and 13 year old DS

Hit me up with your recommendations pls!

We are pretty similar to you me, dh, dd tween. We booked a holiday home in the Highlands through a independent lettings agency. Looking forward to long walks and visiting Culloden.

We’re thinking of Belfast - the Titanic museum and a trip to the Giants Causeway. Loads of cheap flights with EasyJet.

The south of France, west of the official Cote d’Azure. We stayed in Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mere this year.

I'd go somewhere that's (IMO) unpleasantly hot in July/Aug, so Sicily, Croatia, Greece, etc. Late May is a lovely time in the southern Med, because it's hot and summery, without being sweltering.

Last couple of May half terms we have been to Italy and split the week between a city and nearby beach/countryside. Last year was Venice & Lake Garda - it was warm enough to swim in the lake but not too hot to enjoy Venice.

Looking for something similar for this May, possibly Athens plus island, or Dubrovnik plus island. South of France is also tempting though.

Summer half term? Do you mean the one at the end of May?

Canaries are lovely then

Austria?

Lots of walking, swimming, cycling, water sports. Nice towns and cities to explore too.

We had a lovely time in Turkey last May half term. Weather was late twenties and we did a nice mix of beach and cultural stuff. We all loved it

We are off to northern France, Compiegne for the armistice museum and a castle, then toward Bruges. Visiting Ypres and the war cemetreries, sightseeing in Bruges and if the weather is nice a day trip to the coast.

Otherwise we did Amsterdam, Paris and Norfolk in May.
