Nice family friendly hotel in Palma Majorca for dh's 40th in October

I want to take dh away (with dc) as a surprise for his 40th in October. We need to be able to fly from EMA. I'm thinking Majorca because it will be warm and a short/cheap flight. (If you can think of something nicer feel free!)
Anyway, can anyone reccomend a nice place to stay in the city?

There is a lovely Swedish run place called Portixol. Quite 'boutiquey' - depends what you are looking for. It is in a little harbour a short walk from Palma, nice food, pool, lots of young families. They also own a hotel called Esplendido in puerto de soller in the west where we stayed a few years ago. Quiet resort, alright beach. Majorca has loads of inland fancier places too, there is a great website called best of mallorca which has reviews and special offers
