Advice Needed - What is considered a late deal holiday?

Hi

Am currently 19 weeks pregnant and hoping to go on holiday the 1st week of May, but don't want to book just yet as not sure how I'll feel or how pregnancy is progressing. Suffered from high blood pressure and swollen hands/feet last pregnancy.

I know exactly where I want to go and where I want to stay. I checked the prices in December, have checked again this week and they have gone up £120, which I kind of expected.

My question is, if I do decide to go, I will be booking around 2 weeks before I decide to go. Now is this near enough to departure to be considered a late deal, and therefore cheaper, or still not near enough to departure and will be even more expensive than the price now.

Any advice would be great. Thanks xx

If you want to specify where/when you go you may not be able to leave it that long to book as it would be sheer chance whether that combination of flight/resort/accommodation is still available. Not all late departures go under offer either - if the operator doesn't have to fill its allocation or can consolidate flights they have nothing to lose.

Thanks for your response LIZS. I have considered it might not be available which I'm prepared for. Just wondering wether I should just book it anyway now. Although full balance would be due next week if I did so if I then couldn't go would lose a lot of money. I am one of these people that have to plan things you see. I suppose if worse comes to worse and I don't book, I can just do a late deal elsewhere.

Thanks again for responding x

Won't insurance cover you if you are unfit to travel at the time ?

I am covered on my insurance through my bank account up to 28 weeks on date of return. But seems to exclude if you are ill due to 'pre-determined' medical condition. Problem is I am growing larger by the day so no pretending I don't know I'm pregnant

You could probably take out other insurance if needs be. As long as you tell them it should be fine, ring and ask.
