Can anyone recommend a hotel for us? Looking for

interconnecting twin rooms or 2 bed apartments
half board with good selection of local food
beach to walk to
pool for swimming (not splash pool with slides)
village to walk to
We don’t want entertainment or kids club
fly from scotland

I would like to try Croatia or Greece as never been to either. Prefer a classy sort of area though, family’s but not too Brit’s abroad if possible

I would recommend Rovinj as well but we stayed at (and preferred) hotel lone.

grand hotel is very flash (and expensive) but we found it very cold and style over substance when we visited for dinner.

Srebreno Apartments

These were fantastic. Huge two bedroom apartments, close to the beach and trips into Dubrovnik. No half board but you have use of all the facilities at the neighbouring Sheraton Dubrovnik including outdoor pool, spa, restaurants etc.

We have been to White rocks hotel Kefalonia two years in a row. Teenagers 14 & 16. Nice pool, pebble
Beach for snorkelling. No entertainment but amazing cocktails and sunset looking out over the sea. We had two rooms next to each other, sea view is lovely. I think they also do a villa type room. Only 10 mins to the main city and airport. Lovely sunbeds and very 'Instagram-able' apparently!! We did a couple of the boat tours at sunset, jumping off and snorkelling in little coves. We love it. I came on here to ask where else would similar! We never usually go back to the same place but it's so easy and beautifully relaxing......I have been searching for the same in Croatia

Wupity · 22/11/2023 11:53

Thanks. That sounds great. Love the no entertainment aspect! Did you eat there? Was the food good? I would love to go to Greece, but I am a little wary of Greece after all the wildfires but not sure if necessary.

We went last year when the fires were happening and Kefalonia wasn't affected. The locals said they get them every year in most places but they got out of control. We did eat there as was half board. They also have an a la carte restaurant but we didn't try it. Taxi to Argostolli the capital is about 5-10 mins away with all the restaurants around the harbour etc.

SamW98 · 23/11/2023 13:06

We stayed just up the road from White Rocks (San Lorenzo Village) several times with my DS from age 9-15 and he loved it there.
Lassi is the nearest place with bars and restaurants and as the PP said Argostoli is a short taxi ride away for a more Greek feel. So you have best of both worlds close by.

From Argostoli it’s easy to get a ferry across to Lioxouri for another change of scenery.
