Center Parcs Elveden or Woburn

Hi!
I’ve spent ages searching but can’t find the right thread; apologies if it already exists! Going to CPs next Feb/March for a weekend. Baby, two four year olds and adults. Mainly into swimming, parks, soft play, bowling and maybe some racket activities but not loads. It’s mainly for the four year olds. Which CPs out of Elveden and Woburn (for distance only these two) would be best? I read that Woburn is much smaller. Does it still have lots of parks dotted around and do both places have free soft play? I can’t seem to find these answers on their website!
We went to one in Holland last year and it was small but had several children’s play areas and a free to use, whenever you like soft play so we just did that and swimming. Sadly can’t persuade the rest of the family to go abroad!
Any words of wisdom as to which people would choose and why is greatly appreciated!
x

What did you choose in the end? Elveden is nicer I think and has the spa redone now too.

Hidingplace · 21/11/2023 15:14

I haven’t chosen yet so thanks for the reply! I’m leaning towards Elveden…

Elveden is good is good with younger children, we used to go when ours were small, I remember there being quite a few playgrounds.

We go to Woburn now as it is the closest.

Elveden gets my vote. Woburn is newer, smaller, hillier and has the best spa I've ever been to! But Elveden is definitely my favourite centerparcs as I like the layout, great pool, lots of nice walks between areas.

Wondering what Wafflemum could possibly have said to have their post deleted!

I’m thinking it’s the usual “read the room” type comment that is always posted on a thread where someone can afford to do something.

Been to both, but would always opt for Elveden as the better option.

Elveden is an older CPs but I much prefer to layout of it. It's far less hilly and feels more natural than Woburn (no idea why but Woburn feels a bit forced and manufactured to me... which of course all CPs are I guess). I do love the Woburn spa, but on the whole prefer the vibe at Elveden.

Daisypod · 21/11/2023 16:47

Definitely Elvedon, we found the hills in Woburn so annoying as to get anywhere we had to go up or down a really big hill (get off your bikes and push big) from where we were based.
Also the pool was much smaller and the lake and just felt a bit rubbish in comparison

The main play area at Elveden is brilliant. I wasn't keen on the super loud fighter jet sounds from the nearby base though. Woburn didn't have such a nice play area and the hills aren't great if you have young children walking, but to me it felt more peaceful.

Verite1 · 21/11/2023 17:51

We preferred Elvedon.

mrsnjw · 21/11/2023 17:58

We went to elvedon in October half term. Our children are 17 and 14 but still love it there. I'm so sad they missed out on the new children's playground outside the sports cafe. It's absolutely fantastic. You could probably spend the day just at the playground. I'm envious of you with small people. So many fantastic times for you to have at centreparcs. The winter wonderland is fab at Christmas time.

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 24/11/2023 18:15

Elveden is better, in my opinion. Bigger pool, flatter, so cycling is so much easier and great if you have small children with the kids splash area and new playground.

Livingoncaffeine · 24/11/2023 18:18

Both are great. Woburn is better if you don’t want to be walking or cycling far as it’s smaller, Elvden is better if you want more space. Both have the free soft plays are restuarants. I may be wrong but I think Elveden have just re vamped their spa too so it probably brings it in line with the Woburn one.

Livingoncaffeine · 24/11/2023 18:19

Oh yes I forgot Elveden were getting a new playground too, it was being built while we were there and looked awesome! Also we went February last year and they still had the winter lights on which was lovely

bettynutkins · 24/11/2023 18:20

Definitely Elveden.

Hidingplace · 25/11/2023 13:11

Thank you everyone. I don’t think I’ll be getting to a spa and most interested in parks so Elveden sounds like the best option!

They actually wrote me a poem…it did seem a little bit unusual!

Much prefer Sherwood to Woburn. Woburn is just too cramped. Density of lodges and realtively small pool area.

I suspect Elveden will be better in that reagrd.

Rinkymcdinky · 26/11/2023 09:32

Elveden.

Have been to Woburn 3 times as it’s closest, but I prefer Elveden. The cabins feel more bedded in the trees and the pool seemed better to me. Also Woburn had a sort of new build housing estate vibe to me and seemed to consist of Starbucks on every corner.
