We're off to Amsterdam this weekend and it's DH's birthday while we are there. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that would be nice for a treat ? Also it's been years since I was there so any recommendations of things to do would be great. We love to wander so any areas to recommend.

Anne Frank house really worth going to, but book in advance.

Thanks so much these are great. I did go to the Anne Frank house about 20 years ago but DH hasn't been so I would definitely go again.

Buffet van Odette’s is a lovely restaurant, with a really simple menu. I still dream about their beetroot side dish

The Anne Frank House has really expanded the museum, it's worth another visit but you have to book online in advance.

if you are interested in WWII, the Resistance Museum is very worth a visit as well.

A canal tour

Just wander around the grachten route and look at all the houses, the Jordan district is nice.

Walking tour around the city. I’d say the Anne Frank museum will be hard to get this late in the day. Cabal tours are great of course.
