Any recommendations please?

I understand it's a bit of a foodie haven, and booking in advance is advised.
Did you eat at a fabulous place that you would recommend ?

Thanks

I ate in an amazing restaurant about 8 years ago called Papagallo but Ive just checked online and it closed last year! So no real help now unfortunately! It is definitely foodie heaven though.

When are you going? We never booked in advance, except for one expensive place as there were a lot of us, but for only 2 people there was usually somewhere to squeeze you in.

We were recommended Sfoglia Rina https://www.sfogliarina.it/cucina-tipica-bolognese/#sr-menu-id which is very popular. We’re vegetarian and there wasn’t a great choice, but if you eat meat it’s probably much better. Service is very rough and tumble but I don’t mind that.

Palazzo Isolani was a more upmarket place, the food and service were nice but it was quite €€€€.

One place which was a nice surprise was a restaurant called Le Rose (I think, I would need to check), it had the most amazing selection of vegetable sides and all their dishes were really well prepared and it didn’t cost much.

I did have a list from the people at the B&B I was staying at, I will try to find it.

another thing to try, but purely as street food, is the fried tortellini. We also used to go for breakfast at an Arab/Turkish tea room which has a great collection of sweet and savoury pastries.

Cucina - Sfoglia Rina

Thanks - we are going in a couple of weeks' time, so not much time to plan, and there will be 4 of us.

One is coeliac, but I think Italy is very good on managing that.

Fried tortellini sounds amazing!

This is the list of restaurants the B&B gave me. I didn’t try them except for sfogliarina, we just tended to wander around and stop at something that looked good. The Rose restaurant I think was called La Rosa Blu.

fir gluten free just ask for senza glutine, but they tend to be flagged on the menu anyway.
