BA Holiday check in

We are off to NYC on 17th Dec (v. excited!!), and go up to London the day before in order to be able to make the flight.

We need to check in 24hrs before - does anyone know if you then get a digital boarding card etc? We won't have access to a printer at this point and don't want to end up spending a fortune to check in at the airport!

Iirc you get to choose the format of your boarding pass or to print at airport.

VeryQuaintIrene · 10/11/2023 14:54

You'll need the BA App and they will send it to you on that.

chipsandpeas · 10/11/2023 14:54

you can add it to your phones wallet but BA wont charge you for a boarding pass if you want a paper one
in face you will probably still get one anyway if you are checking a bag

ApolloandDaphne · 10/11/2023 14:59

You will get a digital boarding pass but as a PP says you can ask for a paper one when you check in your bag. We went to Washington recently and the app wouldn't download my boarding pass. It was no issue when I dropped my bag to get one. BA are not as draconian as some airlines.

Amazing - thank you all!

It's the first time in years I've flown with anyone it easyJet so am used to being nervous about extra charges 😂😂

If you are going from T5 Heathrow it’s easy. Getting the app is best. You can also load to wallet. We’ve never been given a paper ticket recently. You can ask for one if you want. You can also swap seats when you check in. I usually look at seat guru and move forward! Decide if window or not etc. Overhead lockers fill up, so don’t board last!

TizerorFizz · 10/11/2023 23:47

BA board you by groups 1-5 on the boarding pass . 1 is first class, 2 is business and gold/silver executive club. Families with younger Dc get priority too. We’ve found them well organised.

Another stupid question, sorry!

I now have the app but the booking number won't load anything onto it.

Holiday is booked in DH's name and I used my name and email to set up the app...could this be why it won't load?

Not sure what class you’re booked into, but after check-in, before security, ask at the BA desk if there’s any upgrades available.

If there are they’ll tell you the upgrade price for the classes above your own.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 11/11/2023 08:51

Re upgrades on BA, these are often offered initially to BA executive gold and silver members in advance of departure.

Your DH needs the app too. I would download the tickets to the wallet 24 hours in advance of your flight departure. The booking reference is six characters long consisting of both numbers and letters.
