We have not been on a family holiday (save a week self catering in France) since 2018. The only time I can get a fortnight off in the entire year next year during school holidays is the first 3 weeks of July.
I want to go to an all inclusive. I don't want to think about where we will have dinner, make plans. Nothing. I want someone to refill my drink and the most onerous decision if the day to be whether to lie on my back or front. We've been to AI before, Ibiza, Turkey, Antigua and Mexico. We like somewhere where we can leave the resort abd explore a bit, preferably do some diving or snorkelling. We also like water sports
I don't really like it too hot which is obvs not ideal given when I can get time off. Any recommendations?

Minos Beach Art Hotel in Crete has great diving and is within easy walking distance of the centre of Agios Nikolaos.

Mauritius is great for watersports and snorkelling and can explore island. The hotels can choose what board level sometimes and some go up to AI. It was about 26C when we went in August which was perfect for us as we don't like too hot. Costa Rica has a lot of watersports, some AI and loads to do like jungle, wildlife, ziplines etc - didn't go snorkelling as so much else to do but would imagine you can. Though that was quite an active holiday.

What’s your preference long haul or short haul - and budget?

i literally cannot believe what I am about to write

we won £1000 in tui vouchers in a charity raffle last night. After an incredibly shit 18 months it was fantastic.

been looking at Mauritius today, I reckon overall budget around 2500 each fir 2 weeks AI which looks doable.

Congrats on the TUI vouchers. We went on a TUI multi-centre to Mauritius though all TUI do is book it really. Ours was to Sugar Beach and Long Beach both of which were excellent. Think under 12s are free at both, mine was over 12.

Well done on your win 🙌

Congrats on the win and Mauritius will be fab. Lanzarote would also tick your boxes as it's not as hot as the Med can get in the summer, has great diving especially from Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen where there's a dive shop right on the beach or Playa Blanca that has an underwater sculpture park just off the coast.

There's also the volcano park on the island and lots of other places of interest plus a good selection of AI hotels for all budgets.
