Cruising with a 1 year old

We're going on our first cruise next year and it'll also be our little ones first holiday - yes, we're completely mad!

If anyone has any advice it'd be much appreciated! All those silly little things I haven't thought of.

We're travelling on P&O and have heard that the travel cot bases are quite hard. Does anyone know if they're the generic 120x60cm size? Just looking at foldable mattress toppers we can take with us because he doesn't settle on a hard travel cot base!

You won’t be able to take him in the pools but they might have a splash area he can go in wearing a swim nappy.

remember that you likely won’t get your bags until a few hours after you board, so take a carry on with anything you’ll need in the meantime

We took our 9 month old on a P&O cruise recently. It was all very easy and stress free and she absolutely loved it.

The travel cot mattress was fine, it wasn't hard, but the cot itself was very small. It wasn't a standard size one so depending on how big your one year old is it might be a bit small.

The main indoor pool was also allowing babies in swim nappies when we went.
