Would you go on a holiday just for the sake of it?

I have two weeks annual leave to use by the end of January. I want to go on a trip and a cousin has said I can stay at her villa in Barbados free of charge. I wouldn’t usually be interested in a beach holiday so soon but I have the time off and flights are ~£500. So should I go?

Usually I like cultural holidays or nature. I went on a beach holiday last summer and found it a bit boring. But the idea of 2 weeks sun in the middle of the winter and saving money on hotels sounds tempting.

I wouldn't think of Barbados as a beach holiday destination. Sure there's nice beaches but there's loads to see and do, lots of history and culture as others have mentioned. It isn't an island I'd go to just to lay on a beach for a week! And anyway, the weather in Peru is better during our summer months so save your money and go there later in the year.

Spend your time and money where it most replenishes you. If you have zero interest in this island then spend the £500+ on a cultural break elsewhere in Europe which would be cheap in January......even inter-railing

Can I come please? I love Barbados.

Yes go! Go on the reggae bus and feed the monkeys!

Wow - I'd certainly accept that offer with alacrity and gratitude!! You can always go to Peru another time OP. 🌹

Depends but most likely yes.

Isn't every holiday just for the sake of it? 🤔
