Florida Disney is fully booked for Easter 2009 (wtf) can't get a single flight out on 4th April so we have decided to try LA instead.

Whats it like there? What others things are their to do. We are staying 1 block away from Disney.

xx

We went there in 2005

We had never been to Florida cos basically to be honest I had no interest in going there

We loved it we also went to the film studios which was one of the main reasons for going there

We went on film sets and to WARNER bros etc

It was deffo brill

We also stayed in Beverley Hills in the Regent Beverley Wilshire {Pretty woman hotel}

While we were @ DISNEY we were at HYATT REGENCY and we went on shuttle bus {FREE} to theme park

if you are fans of ER OR HARRY POTTER OR FRIENDS YOU MUST GO HERE

They were filming ER when we were there and so the actors were walking around

If you are not driving aroudn would suggest you use a tour company to take you around LA itself as the city is huge and distances can be long.

Presumably you will be staying in Anaheim.
Disneyland in CA is well worth a visit. There are two parks there - Disneyland and California Adventure. Most people who actually visit these parks are from CA themselves.

Would also suggest you visit Knotts Berry Farm theme park at Buena Park (which is near there).

BTW to view the Warner Bros park your children have to be 8 years of age or older.

I've used that shuttle bus service that RT Kanga speaks of from the Hyatt. It gets packed quickly, you will need to take the first bus out.

Alternatively you can take a cab down to the park itself, it works out quicker and is not expensive.

Hi Chipstick,

I have another explantion for you as to why this is. Its too early to book for April of next year, none of the companies have done their flight schedules as yet.

I had a look at BA's website as they fly to Orlando. They've only got their schedule up till February 2009. They usually put up flights for April in either May or June of this year. Would suggest you check weekly from the beginning of May and the dates for April will eventually appear.

Or get up at a lazy rate have a lazy brekkie maybe go for a swim and go on a bus later in the morning and they are much quieter and also you don't have to queue at the entrance to theme parks

btw if you are going to stay for the night show on the water take warm clothes cos it will get cooler in evening

Thank you for all your lovely replies.

We're all booked up now - when trying Florida we checked with Virgin, Cosmos, Thomas Cook and they were all fully booked.

I'm really excited now though to be going to LA and am glad to be going somewhere a little different.

Yes we are staying at Anaheim, but hoping to see more than just Disney whilst there.

We spent 4 nights there last Aug at the end of our wonderful 4 week fly drive, only did the theme parks with the kids, it was wonderful.

Bumping for any thoughts/tips/suggestions.

What are fave rides/restaurants/shows? Any general info that would help make for a fun visit?
