Winter sun holidays with kids under 5 that won’t break the bank?

Hi All,

Any recommendations for short 4-5 days holiday where it will be warm enough to get out and about with a 4.5 and 1 year old? Uk or short international flight (Europe and around) should be doable but something really budget friendly please. Any hidden gems anyone knows of? Massive thank you in advance!

if you are going Dec/Jan, the only guaranteed warm weather will be the Canaries. It’s about a 4hr flight.

Egypt isn’t much further than Europe

Mainland Europe - go to southern Spain. It's sunny and much milder than the UK in winter and you can get cheap flights too. It's not swimming or sunbathing weather and the pools at hotels will usually be closed (unless indoor), but if we want a bit of sunshine and a break from the non-stop gloom that's where we go.

If you're prepared to go a bit further, then Madeira or the Canaries.

Lanzarote is great for little ones. You can get really cheap flights if you are flex on dates, days and airports. We are just back and by flying on a Monday - out of one airport and back to another on a different airline - we got our flights for £70. We then got a beautiful 2 bed house with large shared pool for £370 for 6 nights. Don’t know if packages would be cheaper for you with free child places or not though.
