Any tips? Children are 7 and 11. Staying in the centre. Restaurants, attractions, must sees - what would you recommend?

We really enjoyed the museum of imagination and walking along the promenade. The trip up to Gibrafaro castle is a hike but well worth it too. We liked the Picasso museum too

The lego exhibition near the port is good.

Also there is a museum of music which is worth a visit. Kids can play some of the instruments.

The Alcazaba is interesting. We went with ours at a similar age, and they loved it. If you hop on a bus going along the coast Rincon de Victoria is a nice Spanish resort, and is you walk back there is a tunnel through the cliffs to the next beach, which I forget the name of, but nice if you want a quieter morning.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion here but I went to Malaga with my 2 19 year old DDs in June - honestly save your money and go elsewhere. We found the city run down with very little to do. There was the beach, shopping and not much else. Unless your DC are really into art (the only real attraction seems to be galleries & museums!) I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I’ve travelled most of Spain and it was my least favourite destination by far!

The carnival is in from the 3-11th of Feb so if you’re going in half term you might see it. We saw a bit of it a few years ago. Lots of groups of adults and children dressed up and parading and performing. It was good fun.

I really liked Malaga. We rented electric scooters which was fun. Roman theatre is lovely. There’s a great market and a very relaxed fish restaurant/counter there. You can do a guided tour of the graffiti art. For a couple of nights it’s fab.
