Anyone been to Zante in the last couple of years?

I'm going in May and its the first foreign holiday I've had since 2001, so I'm a bit lost on the money front!

Do I take currency, travellers cheques or can I just take my debit card? Very dumb question I'm sure, but I'm sure things have changed since I was abroad last.

I am really lazy and just take a few euros (about £50 worth)for the airport, taxi's, ect but use the cash machines when I am there- I am not sure if that is the best exchange rate. The last time I went to Zante was 2001 but I went to Lindos (Rhodes) last year and this is what I did (i also take a DP who is my walking wallet !)

Debit card or credit card in the machines?

We went to Zante last year, we took a some euro's to last a couple of days and traveller's cheques as we were unsure as to whether we could use our debit card, there were quite a few cash machines which we were able to use.

Have a great time.

We used debit card in machines, didn't try using our credit card.

We went two years ago and took mainly cash although we did draw extra out from the cash machine (there are a fair few about).

I love Zante! Whereabouts are you going? We went to Tsilivi ...the most fabulous place in the world

We're going to Porto Roma in the South, courtesy of Mumsnet!
