Anyone got any mid budget hotel recommendations? Central to all visitor locations. Thanks

(All the hotels seem to have awful reviews - even the 4* ones!)

We stayed at Hotel Orange - near the Vatican but we walked all round Rome from there. It had hostel vibes but was spacious and clean.

We stayed here. It’s more as 3 star than a 4 star but it was clean and convenient, and the breakfast was very good.

We stayed at the Hotel California a few years ago. It’s was well place near the Termini station, had a fabulous restaurant underneath if we were tired in an evening, it meant we didn’t need to traipse round looking for somewhere to eat.
Reasonable cost, clean and good sized rooms.

We stayed at the Inn at the Spanish Steps and it was a great location.

We stayed here last month. Fantastic location and not too expensive.

Stayed at the Mama Shelter in Rome in august. Booked a deal through secret escapes - really near an underground station and walking distance to Vatican.

Comfortable modem hotel with great food, rooftop bar, Neapolitan pizza restaurant and we had interconnected rooms with the kids - I'd stay there again.

We stayed here.

Think it’s about 4 star. Anyway, it was a great location, has a fabulous rooftop bar and I’d definitely stay again.

We stayed at the same hotel as @LeonBlack did and would thoroughly recommend it.

Trevi Palace Hotel. Great breakfasts are included. Just a few minutes walk from everywhere except the Vatican.

RTHJ14 · 29/10/2023 08:03

We absolutely loved the Rose Garden palace. It’s walking distance to the Trevi fountain and spanish steps plus near a Metro stop. Little pool and sauna too. Food was amazing and they were lovely with our kids.

We stayed here, close to main train Station, walking downhill to centre, lovely courtyard area

We have just come back from Rome . We stayed at the Catone Vatican Suites which was a few minutes walk from the Vatican but close to the metro so easy to get around Rome.
It was more an Airbnb but without a kitchen but lots of nice restaurants on the door step and very nice area. Very reasonably priced as well.
We booked very last minute so was limited on what we could find and pleasantly surprised how nice the room was.

Help! Which property is best?

I found these great hotels on Booking.com and love them all. Help me decide which one to book!

We stayed at the Ponte Sisto Hotel, and would recommend it. It's clean, comfortable, rooms are a little dated, but perfectly nice. It has a lovely roof terrace, and a pretty courtyard, where breakfast is served if the weather is good. Breakfast was included and was very good.
The location was perfect, walking distance to just about everything, we didn't need to use public transport at all, except to and from the airport. It was close to Trastevere, which was lovely in the evenings. I would certainly stay there again.
