Week with Esprit Summer - Full board, dh and I were about £140 each, ds £60 and dd free , no travel included.

About 4 years ago we went for a week in Crete in May for £279 per head all-inclusive. Hotel wasn't that great tbh.

Camping in France, used my tesco vouchers for the ferry so that was nearly free. Whole holiday cost about £250 for a week for 4. However that doesn't take into account the stuff we bought (but we do camp every year so invested IYKWIM)

Now we have everything we could possibly want ic fridge, roof box, bike rack and kitchen sink. Holidays will cost v little, in Enland last year dh did 4 nights fr £50 in Norfolk, this summer he is planning cornwall for 2 or 3 weeks, campsite costs £15pn.

2 weeks in Spain this August, in a villa with access to 3 pools for 8 of us (4 adults, 4 children)- £1000 for the villa, flights just over £500 for us all. Even with the hire car and spending money, I think we have still done really well!

luckylady74 · 10/03/2008 21:20

mmj - those sites look really nice - which one did you stay on?

rachelmumoftwo-more details please - that is brilliant!

UniversallyChallenged · 10/03/2008 21:47

mmj - good website thanks.

Need to know so much as not gone to France for years!
Which ferry did you get?
How long was it and the journey onto the site?
What was the weather like when you went?

UniversallyChallenged · 10/03/2008 21:56

Where did you get the site from Scramble? How many people went?

Thanks

4 af us, just lucky witht he flights, We booke dthe caravan with siblu, sorry I should clarify it was April, not summer.

It would have been even cheaper if I ahd booked diect with the site.

Often it is cheaper to book with the caravan parks direct.

The flights were Easyjet, but Ryan air do good deals too (to Valencia). It is worth checking daily before you commit, as they really do change. I read that when a flight is sold, the price goes up on the other seats, and if no more are sold for a while, they go back down. Some days of the week are better to buy, Weds and Thurs, I think.
The villa is a private rental between Javea and Moraira, found after much scouring of the net. There are a lot out there, and many are not that expensive. We are tied to school hols, so were pleased to manage a holiday this year.

luckylady74 · 11/03/2008 19:41

just remembered that my friend went to center parcs in holland in the last week of the school holidays when it's much cheaper - had a good time , but villa was 'tired' though mine here have been too!
