Camping Les Biches - St Hilaire (Canvas) - anyone been?

Just thinking about a holiday for June this year. Will have dd who will be 2yrs 4months by then, and I will be nearly 6 months pregnant (ie not walking for miles at a time!).

Looking at the Vendee as weather should be decent, and don't want to drive any further than that, and just trying to pick the best resort for us.

Current front runner seems to be Camping Les Biches, and just wondering if anyone has been, especially with a toddler (and during term time), and if so, what you thought of it?

Is there anywhere you have been that you think would be better for us?

we were at camping les biches summer before last and we loved it. That said, our DCs are older so can't comment on what I would think of it for little ones as wasn't in that mindset. If you have any specific questions I might be able to answer, happy to try to remember.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/03/2008 22:38

lol EPPM - are you considering the same sort of thing?

I'm def not the camping type, but no point going somewhere lush whilst dd is little and unable to appreciate it.

We stayed on a Siblu site last year, and it didn't put us off mobile home holidays, so we're doing it again. Just want to make sure I get a holiday before dc2 arrives.

Thanks for responding ladette. No specific questions that spring to mind at the moment, but glad to hear that you liked it there. Oh, you could confirm that the beach is nice, and the waves aren't too big?

Well, I think I've had my fill of France for about the next 30 years.....
but, when I saw the thread a few weeks ago (chippyMinton's I think) I did rather like the look of st jean de monts.

I like Hossegor/aquitaine/anglet/biarritz tbh- atlantic waves are just amazing.
The sun is weird down there though- v.v. strong- would probably burn dd.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/03/2008 07:10

We did aquitaine last year .

we didn't spend a lot of time on the beach, but liked the beach at St Gilles. There was a lovely little beach at Sion, but rock pools rather than sand as I recall. Lovely little restaurant just off the beach at Sion. The campsite was lovely, great pool area and an indoor pool.

We went two summers ago when ds1 was 4 and ds2 was 2 and I was 6 months pregnant. It was fine although the drive through the site was busy at times. We went early July before most of the schools broke up so it was quiet as was the beach at St Jean. The only thing I would say about it was there was a lot of shade which was fine for the kids but when they had a nap I would have loved to have sat in the sun but there wasn't any near our mobile.

We loved the area so much that we have bought a mobile on a Siblu site and go as ofetne as we can
