Travel insurance and cancellation

Hi, we are looking at travel insurance for a big holiday next year and have just had a depressing but necessary conversation about our elderly relatives. Our parents (and 1 grandparent) are still with us, all over 74 and in the case of the gp, nearly 100. So we wanted to ensure that if someone were to die we could cancel.

From what we are reading, insurance won't cover us if it is a pre existing condition. Eg dementia. Does anyone know where we could look? We are obviously hoping for the best but don't want to be under or uninsured!
Thanks

I think it would be very difficult to get cover like this. Or very expensive if you were to find cover.

Can you have a think about the situation. In what circumstances would you actually want to cancel? I know this sounds a bit cold hearted, so apologies for that. But just suppose one of them sadly died, does that mean you have to cancel the holiday? Could you arrange the funeral for your return.

Thank you @NewIdeasToday . That has grounded me. I think I was overthrowing it, because of the "big holiday" aspect of it.
I won't borrow troubles, and we will deal with what's ahead of us at the time.

Good luck with all of it. And I really hope you get your big holiday. Where are you planning to go?
