Can anyone inspire me as I'm stuck and want to plan ahead for once to get a good deal and save towards this.

Family of 4, 2 teen boys

Boys love - swimming, activities and the older one now loves chatting up girls it seems 🤣
DH loves exploring
I love - them being happy & sunbathing

We all love good food that's not over priced..

For 1 week in july where would you go that's not the places we have already been to - canaries, Spain, Italy, portugal

Is there somewhere where eating out well doesn't cost the earth like it does in the south east of England now?

Any advice would be so gratefully received.

Btw I'm also worried it will be too sweltering hot in july but do want some heat! I would have happily gone away in may half term instead by DS1 is doing his GCSEs xx

A cruise
Greece.

Malta. If your budget stretched to it you could try diving in Gozo.

Rocknrollstar · 22/10/2023 22:05

Crete

I second a cruise...or if looking for something less 💰 try Eurocamps or similar, my boys love the slides/pool, and chatting to other teenagers! We like pottering around old towns, bbqing and being lazy, all happy!!

Malta - where would you suggest in terms of town?

Croatia - I heard that is nice also - any suggestion of airport/town?

Crete - lovely suggestion. What about resort

Bulgaria.. never thought of that one! Any ideas of where within it and what the airport name is?

Thanks for all the other ones too incl eurocamp..

It's so good to get peoples help to think outside of the box xx

Morocco

I fancied Morocco but someone told its not safe to wander about in the evening finding different restaurants? Is that true?

Also would it be super hot in july? Or would all of these places be the same? Sorry I'm clueless x

I'd do a French campsite, plenty of chatting up opportunities! Not as warm as Greece which is the other suggestion I have - ixia on Rhodes is a decent affordable option

thaisweetchill · 23/10/2023 12:03

Lyttos Beach, Crete

CallieQ · 23/10/2023 12:32

Any Greek island especially Crete, Corfu
Rhodes

For a beach holiday, check out Varna and surrounding areas, there's an airport in Varna with direct flights during summer. Down south from that, check out Bourgas where the airport is, and surrounding areas like Nessebar and Sozopol. Avoid Sunny Beach as it's not family oriented anymore but it has become a boozy awful place (used to be very nice in the past but it has become more like Magaluf if you fancy that sort of thing). There are wonderful mountarin areas to visit in summer as well if you fancy that, check out the seven Rila lakes, Vitosha mountain and Rodopi mountain, the main airport for these would be Sofia.
Bulgaria still has its own currency (not the euro), so relatively cheap and most locals speak English.
Have fun whatever you decide.

Croatia - I love Split which is lively with a lot going on. And then there are loads of ferries to the Islands, Brac and Hvar both gorgeous. Maybe your boys would like doing some research on islands/ looking at ferry times etc, that kind of relaxed holiday travelling and seeing different places can be lovely.
