Best destinations for BA companion vouchers ?

Hi I'm looking for some inspiration please. We have about 90000 avios points and a free companion voucher that we can use for upgraded cabin if we have enough points, but don't quite know where to use them.

We can travel most times of the year, we aren't overly fond of cities and love scenery and beaches. Been to Western Canada and loved that, never been to Asia so fancy that but I think the BA flights may only take us to Singapore and we would need to go on somewhere from there possibly?

Did look at South Africa but feels a bit dangerous at the minute.Been to USA a number of times and not as keen on there, also exchange rate so poor at the moment.

So sorry a bit of rambling but any ideas welcome.

90,000 avios probably won’t get you far (at least not in business) so you probably either need to increase your balance (have you had the Amex gold), look at Europe or travel economy.

If I was travelling economy long haul, it would need to be somewhere I really wanted to go, which is usually expensive, to use my voucher.

We don't mind travelling economy @Fedupofballs

In which case you can also fly with Iberia which would open up quite a few options in south and Central America. Costa Rica could be an option?

Not sure if this works for that amount of points but India? We found it cheaper for companion points than other Asian destinations although this was a few years back.

If you fancy Asia and love beaches and scenery try Hong Kong. I was BA crew that brilliant Covid and it was my favourite place. Yes it’s a city, but there’s so much else there. Beautiful beaches and scenery. Cold in Jan/feb though.

Rio and Cape Town are also beautiful, but not quite as safe. Although if you’re sensible I don’t think they’re that bad.

@Fedupofballs costa rica is a good shout we had a big trip planned there with teen DS for summer 2020 which I could resurrect. I think it's mostly US dollars they use there <sorry ignorance on this> so thinking it could be very expensive now.

@MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet any particular parts of India you would recommend please ?

@Honeyroar Hong Kong sounds very tempting. I thought it was just a city but if there are other things to do, then it would work.

Argentina? Fabulous scenery food and history.

You could use it for flights to Hong Kong, spend a few days then. and then fly to Vietnam. Or fly to Kuala Lumpur, do some sightseeing and then go to a beach resort.
