Malaga in February with children

We have booked a 4 night trip to Malaga, Feb half term. Very excited. Not expecting the weather to be great and staying centrally in an apartment in Malaga. What would people recommend for a 7 and 11 year old? Nice places to eat and visit? TIA

It's got a beautiful Cathedral and a roman theatre. There is the Picasso museum although I have never been. There is also the Alcazaba up I the hills. It has a nice gardens with fountains although I don't know if they will be working in February.

It’s worth doing a day trip to Benalmedena. It’s a short drive and also accessible from Malaga by bus and train. My dc enjoyed the cable car, bird of prey centre and butterfly park.
Bioparc Fuengirola is another really good day trip, as are the Nerja caves.

I was in Malaga in Feb this year and it was pleasantly warm. Lovely city and you can very very easily take the local train out to the beach resorts if you want to see something different. It's the same train as the one from the airport.

Museo de la imaginación will keep them entertained. Many art galleries - Picasso, CAC and Pompidou. The port area has lots of cafes and play areas. City bus tour or boat rides. Walk along the beach to Banos del Carmen at Pedregalejo. Churros and chocolate. Ice cream shops.
Have a great time!

I went out of season with DS at a similar age and he enjoyed it. Agree alcazabar and Catherdral are good. Picasso museum was good (I enjoyed it more than he did, but it was still good!). The market is nice - we chose some sea food then went back and cooked it. Shopping area is nice - mine was just getting in to clothes so we treated him to something. We found car hire at Malaga airport was cheap so did some day trips inland - Ronda is pretty amazing. Have a nice trip
