Winter Break - Berlin or Hamburg

I am looking at a couple of nights away on Feb or March. I wanted Prague but flights are difficult and expensive. So is Krakow. I am now looking at Berlin or Hamburg. Has anyone been that could give me your thoughts on preference? This is for me and DH. Like to sight see and stop off along the way for good food and a drink.

Santander in Spain is also looking like a potential option.

I've never been to Hamburg but go to Berlin and it's fab. The last few years we have went around February time and it's been very wet and mild so maybe not got that winter feel you're after? But that could be completely different next year.

We enjoyed Berlin. It wasn’t too expensive and there was just so much to do.

Berlin is a great place to visit. It's huge and there is so much to see that you could easily spend a week there and not see half of it. Given the choice I would go for Berlin.

Thank you for your help.

Hamburg is lovely. It depends a bit what you want to do though.

As it never was a city linked to royalty you won't have a castle or similar. But you have a great maritime history, culture and music and easy access by train to other cities, Lübeck especially is worth a day on its own.
